HISTORICAL HIGHLIGHTS

As First Baptist Church looks forward to our 115th Anniversary Celebration on November 20, 2011, the History Committee will share facts of historical significance each week in the church mailout, The Wiggins Window, and on this web page.


HISTORICAL HIGHLIGHTS

1896 - Church members met once a month at the Wiggins school until the first church building could  be erected.

1902 - The first church building was  completed at the present site. Members voted to meet the first and third Sundays.

1904 - A parsonage was built near the church.

1906 - Delegates were elected to the Lebanon Baptist Association, and the church became a cooperating Southern Baptist Church, claiming all the rights and privileges as their own.
